BENOMYL 50% WP is systemic carbamate fungicide, which has protective and therapeutic effects. It is metabolized into Carbendazim and another volatile butyl isocyanate within plants. Its mechanism is interfering with the synthesis of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), especially blocking the production of nucleoside. In the process of pathogen cell division, carbendazim could also interfere with mitosis by combining with Microtubule protein of spindle fibers. However, the slight change of Microtubule protein of spindle fibers will reduce the binding force between Carbendazim and microtubule protein, which is easy to cause drug resistance.

In order to prevent this phenomenon, it is better to use it alternately with other fungicides, but not with carbendazim, thiophanate and other fungicides that have cross resistance to benzimidazole, such as benzimidazoles, or with thiophanate methyl and other fungicides as alternative drugs.
