Royal jelly is a bee secretion that is used in the nutrition of larvae, as well as adult queens. Also, royal jelly is the exclusive food of the queen bee larva. It is secreted from the glands in the hypopharynx of worker bees, and fed to all larvae in the colony, regardless of sex or caste.

The royal jelly provides concentrated doses of 10-HDA (the most important active ingredient), the entire Vitamin B Complex, proteins, all essential amino acids, hormones, live enzyems, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, biotin, folic acid, inositol, essential fatty acids & minerals.

Royal jelly has a long history in human medicine because of its health-protecting properties. But it is well known in the latest decades, because of a story of Pope Pius XII.

Pope Pius XII had been seriously ill with gastritis intermittently since 1953, when he had offered to resign the papacy. He also underwent cellular rejuvenation treatment, whose side effects caused hallucinations and nightmares. However, the treatment seemed ineffective to the Pope’s health. When he was desperate for the treatment, one of his physicians named Dr. Galeazzi suggested Pope to take small amount of royal jelly. After several weeks, Pope Pius XII incredibly recovered! So Dr. Galeazzi reported the treatment on the 17th International Congress of Apiculture in Rome. Meanwhile, Pope Pius XII highly commended for the royal jelly, ”The Royal Jelly is the food granted by God to keep the mirth forever”.

Since then, the effectiveness of royal jelly has been spread all over the world.
