Flat-bottom steel silos are widely used, generally for large-diameter, large-capacity silos. This type is easy to construct and has a lower cost. Discharge methods include fluidized bed discharge, multi-hole discharge, flat-bottom sweeping machine discharge, and manual cleaning. This type of steel silo is mainly used in the grain processing and storage industries such as oil, feed, flour, starch, brewing, ports, and grain depots. Conical-bottom silos store materials by gravity flow, have good self-cleaning effects, and leave no residue. This type of silo is suitable for industries with moderate storage volumes and frequent cleaning, such as seeds, flour, livestock, and chemicals. Conical-bottom steel silos have a robust steel support structure and high cone bottom strength. The cone bottom slope is available in three angles: 40°, 45°, and 60°, with the 60° cone bottom steel silo being suitable for storing viscous granular and powdery materials. Insulated silos consist of a steel silo body lined with different layers of insulation material, such as polyurethane or rock wool. Color-coated steel panels are then installed around the insulation layer as outer silo panels, completely enclosing the steel silo and insulation layers. This maintains stable ambient temperature conditions, ensuring storage stability and achieving long-term safe storage.
