Large passage sand dredge slurry pump is designed to extract small particles of sand sediment. The high speed impeller is engineered for the portable dredger pump to create a huge suction power and the high-efficiency sand suction work can be achieved. This type of large passage sand dredge slurry pump is commonly used in sand pumping systems to move sand deposits to a short distance no more than 300 meters. The centrifugal large passage sand dredge slurry pump has characteristics of high cost-performance, small structure, easy operation, easy transportation, and convenient maintenance. The small dredger pump is widely used in rivers and lakes for sediment, sand, slurry or mud extraction applications. The large passage sand dredge slurry pump can be driven by diesel engine or electric motor according to customers’ request. This kind of dredger  pump is designed with open impeller, so it has a large flow rate that is not easy to block.

Qatar customer contacted us in June 2019. This is one of our regular customer. He had a new project. He wanted to buy a horizontal dredge pump to suck the sand from the river to fill the underground pipe. As there was no electric power source around, so the diesel engine was the ideal choice to drive the large passage sand dredge slurry pump. He required the sand output not less than 400 tons per hour, the dredging depth was not less than 15 meters. The sand discharge distance would be 300 meters all in the water. According to the customer’s working conditions, we recommended our 16-inch large passage sand dredge slurry pump for him.

Generally, this type of large passage sand dredge slurry pump connects with diesel engine by V belt, the speeds of the dredger pump and the diesel engine are adjusted by the belt and pulley. However, for this dredge pump set, the power is large. If we connect the pump with diesel engine by V belt directly, the large diagonal tension may damage the clutch and the diesel engine crankshaft. Our engineer designed a transition shaft and two bearing boxes, In this way, even if the diagonal pulling force is large, it only hurts the bearing and does not hurt the diesel engine crankshaft. In addition, we also made the following improvements to the large passage sand dredge slurry pump.

1. We also designed a stable base for the pump set, the bottom of the base could adjust the distance between the portable pump and diesel engine, so it could adjust the tightness of the V belt.

2. Considering that the working environment of Qatar is in the tropics, we had selected the high-temperature resistant V belt for the customer. The V belts are wearing parts. When the belts are worn, it is necessary to remove the shaft and change the belt. For the convenience of our customer, we have attached another 5 belts so that the customer can replace them directly without removing the shaft.

3. In order to ensure the personal safety of the workers, we welded the protective plates around the belt.

4. Before testing the pump, we also tested the hardness of the pump casing, the material is fully compliant.

The total discharge distance was 300 meters, all on the water. As the HDPE pipe can not bend well, so we recommend customer to use flexible rubber hose. Total of 24 pcs HDPE pipe and 12 pcs flexible rubber hose. He also bought 72 pairs of floaters from us.

On August 12, 2019, TAIAN OCEAN Pump Co., Ltd tested the 16-inch large passage sand dredge slurry pump, the overall operation was smooth, the indicators were reasonable, the diesel engine sound was stable, the vibration was small, and the gears were smooth. After testing the large passage sand dredge slurry pump, we took the large passage sand dredge slurry pump to the water conservancy lab to do the loading test, all the experimental data meets design requirements. The diesel engine displacement and noise also met the design requirements. We showed the videos and data sheets to our customer. The customer was very satisfied with the test results of the large passage sand dredge slurry pump.
