From the supplier
It is designed in the shape of tender palm leaves.
Xindu is famous for its "three fragrances": the fragrance of flowers, the fragrance of literature, and the fragrance of Buddhism. Yang Shen, courtesy name Yixiu, art name Sheng’an, was a Zhuangyuan (top scholar) and great litterateur born in Xindu during the Ming Dynasty. His famous work Linjiang Xian — The endless Yangtze River flows eastward, its waves washing away all heroes — has been celebrated by later generations.
Yang Sheng’an once "planted osmanthus trees all along the dikes" in his garden, thus giving birth to Gui Lake (Osmanthus Lake) in Xindu. Influenced by him, planting osmanthus has become a popular tradition among local people. Around the Mid-Autumn Festival every year, osmanthus blooms and fills the air with fragrance, drawing a continuous stream of visitors to admire the flowers by the lake, which has evolved into an annual Osmanthus Festival.
