According to the requirements of the automobile industry standard of the People's Republic of China (QC/T 1024-2015), one component polyurethane sealant for automobiles must meet the tensile strength ≥ 6.0MPa when used for bonding, and must be tested for heat resistance, moisture resistance, accelerated aging (xenon arc lamp) in artificial weather, water resistance and other aging properties.

Application process of polyurethane sealant

"Three materials, seven construction", good construction is an important guarantee of quality. Before applying adhesive, it is necessary to conduct adhesive test of sealant and base material to determine the adhesive effect of sealant and base material, select appropriate cleaner and primer, etc.

Sizing process:

(1) Surface cleaning: improve the adhesion between polyurethane sealant and substrate.

Pour a proper amount of supporting cleaning agent into a clean and dry special container, dip clean absorbent cotton and other materials in the cleaning agent, clean the grease and dust on the surface of the stuck part, and then fully dry it.

(2) Applying primer: improve the adhesion between polyurethane sealant and substrate.

Shake up the primer thoroughly, pour an appropriate amount into a special container, apply a thin layer of primer on the cleaned adhesive part with a soft brush such as wool, and dry it thoroughly.

(3) Sizing and installation:

The adhesive can be applied in spot or strip form as required. After the sealant construction is completed, the bonding, positioning and trimming of the windshield and the vehicle body shall be completed within the operating time of the sealant.
