         Silicon-Manganese alloy is composed of manganese, silicon, iron and a small amount of carbon and other elements. Manganese silicon alloy is a compound deoxidizer commonly used in steelmaking, and it is also the reduction of manganese metal produced by low carbon ferromanganese and electrosilocalorimetry,The raw materials for the production of manganese silicon alloys are manganese ore, manganese rich slag, silica, coke, dolomite (or limestone), fluorite. The production of manganese-silicon alloys may be made using a manganese ore or a mixture of several manganese ores (including manganese-rich slags). Because manganese silicon alloy requires lower iron and phosphorus content than high carbon ferromanganese, it is required that manganese ore smelting manganese silicon alloy has higher ratio of ferromanganese to phosphorus.

Principles

      The Fe and P in the furnace are reduced first, and the Mn high-priced oxides are decomposed in the upper layer or reduced to low-cost oxides by CO MnO then react with C to form carbides.

 

Key points of process

        Manganese ore particle size :10 mm~80 mm, less than 10 mm not more than 10%;2 coke requirements: should meet metallurgical coke conditions, fixed carbon ≥84%, ash ≤14%; particle size requirements 5 mm~25% CaF2≥ in fluorite 70%, particle size 5 mmCaF2≥40 mm. The requirement of raw material is related to the capacity of electric furnace.

 Smelting parameter requirement: under the condition of transformer rated capacity 12500 kVA ore furnace :1 common voltage level 143 V;② suitable electrode working end length 1700 mm. ~2000 mm;③ to maintain three phase current and voltage balance ;4 control suitable slag alkalinity, control binary alkalinity R2=0.5-0. The slag SiO235~43% and MgO5~9%;5 the surface permeability is good, the firing is even, the charge is balanced and large area sinking (the closed electric furnace makes the pressure in the furnace stable), the electrode is deep and stable inserted into the furnace material, which is an important sign of normal furnace condition during smelting ;6 enough reducing agent, insufficient reducing agent, easy to cause slag turning, load fluctuation and insufficient power transmission, the content of Si and Mn in the alloy decreases.

  1.        Si-Mn alloy is in ore Produced by simultaneous reduction of manganese ore (including manganese-rich slag) and manganese oxide and silica and silica from silica. The production of manganese silicon alloy is carried out in the ore furnace, using carbon reducing agent, manganese ore, manganese rich slag, sintered manganese ore, roasted manganese ore and silica as raw materials, lime, dolomite, fluorite and so on as flux in the electric furnace.
