From the supplier
Tianshui big cherries are nationally certified geographical indication fruits. They are the "first spring fruit" nurtured in the "Jiangnan of the Loess Plateau". Known for their large size, bright color, rich flavor, firm texture and excellent storage and transportation properties, they are regarded as the "red gem" of the cherry world.
Tianshui is located within the golden fruit belt at 34° - 35° north latitude. It is situated at the junction of the Loess Plateau and the western section of the Qinling Mountains, spanning the two major water systems of the Yellow River and the Yangtze River. With an altitude of 1100 - 1700 meters, it is recognized as the most suitable area for open-field cultivation of Chinese big cherries. This region has a warm temperate semi-humid semi-arid climate, with an average annual sunshine duration of 2600 hours, a diurnal temperature difference of over 12℃, a frost-free period of 185 days, and precipitation of 500 - 600 millimeters. It has no severe cold in winter and no intense heat in summer. The combination of sufficient sunlight, water, and soil conditions perfectly matches the growth requirements of cherries. The deep and fertile loess soil is rich in organic matter and trace elements, providing a natural fertile ground for the fruits to accumulate sufficient sugar and flavor substances.
The excellent geographical conditions enable the Tianshui big cherries to have a longer growth period and accumulate more nutrients. The single fruit weight is over 25g and the fruit diameter is over 25mm. The fruits have a bright and clear red color, firm and tender flesh, high sweetness, and rich aroma. Their hardness reaches 7.2 kg/cm², which is much better than that of ordinary production areas. There are over 20 high-quality varieties such as Red Delicious, Early Red, Russian No. 8, and Pioneer, which mature in a staggered manner from early May to mid-June, meeting the preferences of different tastes.
Since its introduction in the 1980s, Tianshui has developed into two core production areas, namely Qinzhou and Miji. The planting area exceeds 100,000 mu, with an annual output of over 50,000 tons and an economic value of over 1.2 billion yuan. It has won the gold and silver awards in the Beijing High-Quality Cherry Competition. It is another "Gan Flavor" brand renowned nationwide after Tianshui Huaxiu apples. The fresh fruits are sold all over the country and are highly favored by consumers.
