  • Working Principle
    • Signal Reception: A sound and light alarm usually consists of a main unit, a warning light, and a speaker. When the main unit receives an early warning signal from devices such as sensors (e.g., smoke sensors, gas sensors) or controllers, it will convert the corresponding signal into audio and electrical signals through the built-in driving circuit for output.
    • Sound Alarm: The sound generator (such as a buzzer or a speaker) is responsible for converting the electrical signal into a sound signal, emitting a high-volume alarm sound. Common sound types include buzzing, siren sounds, etc. The high-decibel sound is used to attract people's attention.
    • Light Signal Alarm: At the same time, the control circuit will activate the light source (such as an LED light or a light bulb), making it emit a strong flashing light signal. Usually, it is equipped with red or yellow warning lights to enhance the visual warning effect, and it can be easily noticed even in a dimly lit environment or in the presence of smoke.
  • Types
    • Wireless Remote Control Sound and Light Alarm: It adopts sound and light control technology. The factory-standard wireless remote control can be used to remotely control the "on" and "off" of the sound and light alarm at a long distance, which is convenient for operation in different positions. It can truly be turned on and off at will, realizing remote wireless control.
    • Power-on Broadcasting Sound and Light Alarm: It will ring as soon as it is powered on. It can also be equipped with a remote control function according to user needs, such as remote control of volume adjustment, remote replacement of broadcast voice, etc. Users can also choose infrared remote control for previous/next track, volume adjustment, or remote replacement of voice content.
    • Microwave Induction Sound and Light Alarm: It adopts the mature radar wave induction technology. When an object passing by is detected, it can quickly respond with the warning light flashing and voice prompt function. Currently, it has been widely applied in gas stations, intelligent transportation fields, etc.
    • Portable Handheld Sound and Light Alarm: It is a portable and movable handheld version with a built-in battery, which is convenient to use in some specific scenarios, such as outdoor operations, temporary security alerts, etc. It also has options such as power-on broadcasting, wireless remote control broadcasting, and microwave induction to meet the needs of different scenarios.
  • Technical Parameters
    • Operating Voltage: Usually, there are multiple options, such as AC220V, AC380V, AC24V, AC36V, AC110V, DC24V, etc. Special voltages can also be customized.
    • Power Frequency: Generally between 50Hz - 60Hz.
    • Power: Commonly around 6W.
    • Tone: There are various options such as A/B/E/D/Y/L/F/voice, etc. The appropriate tone can be selected according to actual needs to achieve a better warning effect.
    • Sound Level: Generally can reach around 106dB to ensure that the alarm sound can be clearly heard within a certain range.
    • Color: Mainly colors such as red, yellow, and green are available for selection. Among them, red usually represents danger and emergency situations, yellow can be used for warnings and attention prompts, and green is less used for alarms but can be used as an indication of the working status, etc.
    • Warning Method: It alerts people by sounding the alarm and flashing the light simultaneously.
    • Operating Temperature: Generally between -30°C - 70°C, it can adapt to a wide temperature range to ensure normal operation under different environmental conditions.
    • Protection Level: Usually IP65, which has good dustproof and waterproof performance and can be used in open-air and outdoor environments.
    • Operating Humidity: Generally 10% - 95% (non-condensing), it can work stably within a certain humidity range.
  • Installation Key Points
    • Location Selection: A fire sound and light alarm should be installed at the safety exit of each fire prevention zone, and it is preferably located near the staircase exit of each floor corridor. For other places, it should also be installed in places where the staff can easily see and hear it, so as to eliminate potential hazards in a timely manner. At the same time, avoid installing it in places with strong electromagnetic fields, such as near high-power motors and transformers.
    • Height Requirement: The installation height of the alarm is generally above 180cm, which is convenient for maintenance personnel to conduct daily maintenance. At the same time, it can also make the alarm sound and light spread better and be noticed by people.
    • Probe Installation: If the sound and light alarm is equipped with a probe, for the detected gases with different densities, the installation positions of the indoor probes are also different. When the density of the detected gas is less than that of air, the probe should be installed more than 30cm away from the roof, facing downward; conversely, the probe should be installed 30cm above the ground, facing upward.
    • Wiring Specification: The controller is connected to the detector with a three-core shielded wire. The single-core wire diameter should not be lower than 0.75mm of the national standard wire, depending on the actual distance. Connect the shielding layer to the controller's casing and ground it reliably. When using RVV cables, it should be installed in a metal pipe and the metal pipe should be grounded reliably.
The application scenarios of sound and light alarms are as follows:
  • Industrial Field
    • Factory Workshop: It is used for warning in dangerous areas, such as high-voltage distribution rooms, chemical raw material storage areas, etc. When situations such as equipment failures, circuit short circuits, and gas leaks occur, it can promptly send out sound and light alarm signals to remind the staff to take immediate measures to avoid accidents.
    • Mining Industry: In mines, sound and light alarms can be used for gas leakage alarms, ventilation system failure alarms, and landslide warnings, etc. In the noisy mining environment, the high-decibel sound and bright light of the sound and light alarm can effectively attract the attention of miners and ensure their safety.
    • Petrochemical Industry: There are a large number of flammable and explosive substances in this industry, and sound and light alarms are widely used in various production links. For example, in the unit areas and tank areas of refineries and chemical plants, when situations such as the concentration of combustible gases exceeding the standard, abnormal temperature rise, or pressure exceeding the safe range are detected, the sound and light alarm will be activated immediately to warn the staff to deal with it in a timely manner and prevent major accidents such as fires and explosions.
