Sand pumps are designed to extract small particles of sand deposits. The high-speed impeller designed for portable dredging pumps can generate huge suction for efficient sand suction. Qatar customer contacted us in June 2019. This is one of our regulars. He has a new project. He wanted to buy a horizontal dredging pump to suck the sand out of the river and fill the underground pipes. With no power around, diesel engines are ideal for driving mud pumps. He requires that the sand output per hour is not less than 400 tons, and the dredging depth is not less than 15 meters. The sand removal distance is 300 meters, all in water. According to the customer's working conditions, we recommend our 16-inch mud pump for him.
This kind of mud pump is generally connected with the diesel engine by a V-belt, and the speed of the dredging pump and the diesel engine is adjusted by the belt and the pulley. However, for this dredging pump set, there is a lot of power. If a V-belt is used to connect the pump to the diesel directly, the large diagonal tension may damage the clutch and diesel crankshaft. Our engineers have designed a transition shaft and two bearing housings so that even if there is a large diagonal pull, it will only damage the bearings, not the diesel crankshaft. In addition, we have made the following improvements to the mud pump.
We also designed a stable base for the pump set, and the bottom of the base can adjust the distance between the portable pump and the diesel engine, so that the tightness of the V-belt can be adjusted.
Considering that the working environment in Qatar is in the tropics, we chose high temperature resistant V-belts for our customers. V-belts are wearing parts. When the belt is worn, the shaft needs to be removed and the belt replaced. For the convenience of our customers, we have additionally attached 5 belts so that customers can directly replace them without removing the shaft.
To ensure the personal safety of the workers, we have welded protective panels around the belts. Before testing the pump, we also tested the hardness of the pump casing and the material was fully compliant.
The total discharge distance is 300 meters, all on the water. Since HDPE pipes do not bend well, we recommend customers to use flexible rubber hoses. A total of 24 HDPE pipes and 12 flexible rubber hoses. He also bought 72 pairs of floats from us.
On August 12, 2019, Taian Ocean Pump Industry Co., Ltd. tested the 16-inch mud pump. The overall operation was stable, the indicators were reasonable, the sound of the diesel engine was stable, the vibration was small, and the gear was stable. After the mud pump test, we took the mud pump with The load test was carried out in the water conservancy laboratory, and all experimental data met the design requirements. The displacement and noise of the diesel engine also meet the design requirements. We showed the video and data sheet to the customer. The customer was very satisfied with the test results of the mud pump.
